Position Summary

Ledgent Technology has partnered with a local valued client to identify a skilled Network Engineer to support and enhance enterprise networking and security infrastructure across multiple locations. This role manages the daily operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network systems, virtualized environments, and security tools. Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, routing, switching, VMware, and backup technologies is essential.

This is a temporary position with the potential to transition into a temp-to-hire role.

Key Responsibilities

Network Engineering

  • Design, configure, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN environments.
  • Deploy and support routers, switches, wireless technologies, and related network hardware.
  • Implement and manage VLANs, NAT, DNS, supernetting, CIDR, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • Monitor network performance and deliver reliable uptime across all sites.
  • Maintain detailed diagrams, documentation, and migration plans.

Systems & Virtualization

  • Support VMware environments: vCenter, ESXi, virtual switches, iSCSI, and storage configurations.
  • Manage backup and recovery operations using Veeam.
  • Assist with Windows Server, Active Directory, and general IT infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Deep experience with firewall technologies (SonicWall preferred).
  • Strong understanding of VLANs, NAT, DNS, routing (CIDR, EIGRP, OSPF).
  • Hands-on VMware administration experience (vSphere, ESXi, storage, networking).
  • Proficiency with Veeam backups and recovery workflows.
  • Experience with enterprise wireless environments (indoor/outdoor mesh, point-to-point).
  • Familiarity with IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM tools, and additional security technologies.
  • Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell or similar) a plus.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically to remote sites.
